Halcyon Gardens

The MY House Halcyon Garden is more than just a place where things grow, it’s a space intentionally created to nurture peace, healing, and growth in every sense of the word. We started this job training program to offer our clients not only meaningful work experience, but a chance to be part of something restorative. In the midst of life’s challenges, the garden stands as a calm and supportive environment where individuals can gain confidence, build skills, and reconnect with themselves and the world around them.

The word Halcyon has its roots in Greek mythology. It comes from the story of the halcyon bird, which was believed to calm the rough seas each December to safely build her nest. Over time, the word has come to symbolize peace, tranquility, and stillness, the kind of atmosphere we strive to cultivate in this garden and in the lives of those we serve. Like the mythical bird calming stormy waters, the Halcyon Garden is a place where transformation is possible, and where new beginnings can take root.
